My 101 Things

If you remember, at the beginning of this week one of my goals was to reassess my
101 Things list. Well as promised, I'd like to share with you what the 101 Things in 1001 Days project is! Basically this is how it works . . .

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

I have been doing this since November 4, 2008 and my end date is August 2, 2011 and I've already completed around 18 tasks! I have included my list in the sidebar of this site so you can continually see my progress as the project goes on.  Hope you guys enjoy doing this as much as I do . . it's so much fun! It really pushes you to think of where you want your life to go in the next 2.75 years.  I am already creating a bigger and better list for when I finish this one! Have you created one of these already? How are you doing with it? I want to hear everything!

Have fun with this my dears-I know I will!

PS- I have already reassessed my list and I'm pretty much happy with everything that I have on it.  It's important to remember though that it's OK to change a few goals if you realize you don't really want to do them anymore.  Just make sure you push yourself throughout the challenge, that's the point of it- to encourage yourself to try new things and become the person you want to be.  Always scary, but exhilarating in the end :).
